February-Snow, Sun, and Fun

February brought more snow and sun and lots of fun!

We built a family of snowmen this time.  The girls enjoyed licking the baby snowmen I built them.  Don’t worry it wasn’t yellow snow. 

Clara loved being in snow for her first time.  She only cried a few times when she fell in the snow on her face.  She didn’t last very long because she was tired and ready for her nap.  It was lots of fun to see her crawling around in the snow.  She is normally sleeping while we play in the snow.  It was so fun to have her with us and the girls had lots of fun with her too.

We built a snow castle this time.  The girls were good helpers and helped me to pack the bucket full of snow for their castle. 

We had quite a few warm days in February too and went on some good walks around our neighborhood and to the park.  Katelynn has been such a good helper lately.  She likes to help with Clara, help sweep, do the dishes and take the cushions off the couch.  Ok, maybe that last one isn’t helping so much, but she sure does love playing on the cushions.  Jane loves to play and swing and pretend with Katelynn.  They pretend to be falling down the lava drain, go to school, be Santa and deliver presents, be dad and mom, and go shopping.  Those are just a few of what I have heard lately.  Clara loves watching them play and tries to join them. 

In just the last few weeks Clara has discovered all the fun things in the cupboards.  She loves to get into any cupboard she can and gets mad when she can’t or I stop her.  The dishwasher is her absolute favorite and if she hears me open it she crawls as fast as she can so she can play in it.  It sure doesn’t get old watching babies grow and learn! 

Jane wants to be just like Katelynn and so she is learning to ride a bike.    Jane is getting better, but still has a little learning to do.  Kevin was helping Jane to learn on their daddy daughter time they had one warm Saturday.  Katelynn has gotten really good at riding her bike and loves to go on walks so she can ride her bike by us.  Resting after playing with Kevin on a warm Saturday.

 

Mmm, Ice Cream!  We had a lot of fun going to eat with the girls.  They were really good at the restaurant!  Don’t worry Jane didn’t eat that ice cream cone all by herself, although she probably could have! 

January-Snow, Sun, and Wood

The girls love playing in the snow and so do I!  We are really happy when we get a good snow storm that brings us lots of snow.  It means more fun for us and a chance to get outside and play!

Here are a few of our creations from January!  Snowmen, and snow forts.  I do most of the building right now with a little help.  I don’t mind at all though, it means I get to play a lot too.

“In the sun it melted, melted, melted.  SMALL, Small, small.”  Though we had snow for a while we had some really warm weather for January.  It got up to 70 for a few days. 

You have to take advantage of those warm days when you can in the winter, so of course you go play at your favorite park!

And then there are days were you are just crazy inside to even out all the outside time.  Katelynn is starting to ask why about everything lately.  Jane likes to dress herself and this is her favorite outfit lately.  At bedtime she starts out in her pajamas but come morning she is sometimes in completely different clothes because she changed before she fell asleep.  She does it all by herself and most of the time they are on the right way, underwear and all.    Clara is a mover.  She crawls everywhere and loves to be where we are.  She explores a lot and likes to unroll the toilet paper.  We love our cute girls!

We built some little chairs for the girls in the fall and Kevin built this table in January.  The girls are loving them and they loved helping me paint them one Saturday. 

Thanksgiving and Christmas

It’s only a few months late for these holidays, but we thought we would share our fun anyways! 

We had lots of fun with these cute kids when we were able to watch them for a weekend.  I’m glad we got some quality time with them before they all moved to Texas. 

The girls sure are getting big.  Clara started to crawl just after Thanksgiving.  She always has lots of smiles for us.  Jane loves both of her sisters and likes doing exactly what Katelynn does.  Katelynn is getting so big.  She likes going to “school” and learning with her friends. 

We had lots of fun over Thanksgiving!  Edwin and Jennifer came down as well as my Mom and Dad.  It sure is lots of fun visiting with family and playing with cousins.

The girls had lots of fun painting ornaments with a lot of their cousins.  Jane was cute and concentrated when working on hers. 

It is fun to get together for Christmas and even more fun to act out The Christmas Story. We had such a good time with family.

It was so fun to watch the girls open presents!  They had a blast and loved their presents! 

Christmas eve pajamas!  I almost got them done before Christmas Eve this year. 

Aunt Jennifer sure is great with kids!  She read them a fun story before our bean auction.

There were only a few kids gathered around Kevin playing games, you know just one or two or eleven.

The End of Summer

Wow I can’t believe that summer has come and gone so quickly.  Here are a few fun things we were able to do:

All the girls had lots of fun indoors and out.  Clara is already becoming a fashion star. 

She sure is growing up fast.

We all went to some ponds that are just right next to where we live and we had a great time.  We were able to catch one 10 inch catfish.  The girls liked its whiskers a lot.

Katelynn and Jane really liked helping me in the garden. We picked all the tomatoes off the plants.  I am pretty sure however that they mostly just dug in the dirt.

Katelynn is in a preschool coop and their class went on a fun outing to a farm.  There were hay rides, mazes and lots of pumpkins.

Summer sure does go by fast, especially with three monkeys to take care of now.
