Fun in the Sun!

We are so glad that it has been warm enough to play outside a lot.  Katelynn loves being outside!  It is so much fun to see her point at things and go ohhh! or her other jabberings she makes.  There is a trail, just behind where we live, that goes around two small lakes; we go on walks there fairly often and see all sorts of different birds.

We don’t always know what she is pointing at, but most of the time it is a bird.  She seems to love animals, especially dogs.  There are a lot of dogs and whenever she hears one barking she gets excited and says da da.  Which is her word for dog right now.

We have fun when daddy goes on the walks with us.  He is a lot of fun to play with.

 

Whenever I am making dinner or in the Kitchen she loves to be right by me.  It is fun to have her there and she is pretty good most of the time.  She loves to help us set the table.  We will give her the glasses or silverware and she will put them on the table.  Most of the time its pretty close to where it needs to be.  She also loves to play with the rubber bands I put in her hair.  This day she wanted more in so she has three pigtails.  I am glad she is finally letting me do stuff with her hair.  For awhile she would always pull out whatever I put in. 

Our pool finally opened up and we took Katelynn swimming for the first time this year.  It took her awhile to warm up to being in so much water, but not too long.

Soon she was splashing and having lots of fun with Daddy.  She couldn’t wait to get back in the water whenever she went out.  We were out there for a while and she cried when we left, but we will have many more days at the pool!  At least until the baby comes.  

Our little girl is getting Big!

Katelynn is now 18 months old!  It is hard to think she is already that old sometimes.  She is getting so big and is lots of fun! 

She loves to put on mommy’s shoes.  These red ones are some of her favorite ones to pull out of my closet.  Although some days there are several pairs of my shoes around the house.  She also likes her shoes.  Some days she brings a pair of hers out, wants them on, and then goes and gets another pair for me to put on her. 

I made the dress for her last Easter, but it was too big.  I made it from an infant pattern, but I guess infant means older baby.  Oh, well!  It worked great for this Easter.  It was hard to get her to hold still for pictures, since we were outside.  She loves to run around outside. 

We love our little girl!  She is going to be a great big sister.  She is good with her dolls, although she pokes their eyes sometimes, so we will have to watch out for that.  She wants to hold her baby cousin whenever she is crying and love to give her hugs.  We love you Katelynn!!

Fun in the Park!

For Ben’s Birthday we went up to Rocky Mountain National Park.  It was a gorgeous day!  Everything was starting to turn green, the sun was shining and we had great company.  What could be better?

We went on a small hike on an alluvial fan.  It was so pretty!

Katelynn wasn’t sure of her ride at first, but she loved it after not too long. 

We stopped for awhile and played at the creek.

Rohan and Bruce had a ton of fun throwing rocks into the creek.  Rohan was going for the biggest rocks he could.  Some of them were pretty big.

Katelynn learned fast from her cousins that it was fun to throw rocks also.  She was getting pretty good towards the end. 

We had a picnic to end the day.  It was a lot of fun and so beautiful!  I love the mountains!
