Tis' the Season

I love this time of year!  There are so many great things about it; the lights, the tree, giving gifts, good food, spending time with family, and remembering our Savior's birth.  Christmas was just Kevin, Katelynn, and me this year.  Kevin made a super yummy pumpkin roll!

Christmas Eve we had a ham dinner together.

We opened up our Christmas Eve Pajamas after we sang some Christmas Songs and read the Nativity Story from the Bible.

Christmas morning was quiet with just the three of us, but we had fun opening up our presents together.

Katelynn was wide awake for everything, well not really.

Kevin made us a yummy Christmas Breakfast of fried ham, potatoes, and eggs.  He donned this lovely apron while cooking.

We had a good Christmas this year.  We are so blessed and are thankful for all that has been given us, including our Savoir, Jesus Christ.

Bigger!

Katelynn is now a month and 10 days old.  She is getting bigger all the time.  Today when I took her to the doctor she weighed 6lbs 9oz.  She gained one pound in two weeks.  Go little Katelynn!

I like to see what she does with her hands whenever she is sleeping.  She always has them in interesting places.  The other day when I got home from sacrament meeting I found Kevin and Katelynn sleeping on the couch.  So cute!

We are loving having Katelynn at home.  It is great being parents. She is starting to sleep better at night, which I am appreciating.

She is not sure if she likes her bath or not, but especially does not like having me put lotion on her afterwards.

Katelynn is Home!!!!

We got to bring Katelynn home from the hospital on Tuesday.  We sure were exctied!  We feel more like real parents having her home.  It is so nice to have her home and not have to run back and forth from the hospital so much.  She is tiny and cute and doing well.  She weighed just over 5lbs when we brought her home.  Her first doctor's appointment is on Tuesday.

We were able to spend two nights with her at the hospital before we brought her home.

We stayed home for Thanksgiving and had our own little dinner.  It was my first attempt at cooking a turkey.  I think it turned out fairly well.  We are so grateful that we have Katelynn home with us now and that she is doing so well.  The Lord blesses us in so many ways.

We had a nice small dinner with just the three of us, well only two of us ate the food.  It was a lot different, but it was fun too.  We had a nice relaxing day and topped it off with some yummy pumpkin pie at the end.

We have plenty of leftovers, but I really like leftovers.

First Family Picture

We realized we had quite a few pictures of baby Katelynn with one or the other of us, but not all of us.  So we took a few pictures tonight.  They are our first family pictures!

Katelynn has been doing great at eating.  We are hoping to have her home with us by this next weekend.  We don't feel like real parents quite yet because we visit her in the hospital, but we know we will once she comes home.  We are super excited for her to come home!

One Week Old

Baby Katelynn is one week old today!  She is still in the hospital but is progressing.  She is in her own little crib now and no longer needs to be in a warming bed.  She is sucking longer while breastfeeding .  She is getting more from me and building up her muscles.  Hopefully she will be able to come home soon.  She weighs 4lbs 7oz now, just a little above her birth weight.

A big yawn.  So cute!

The pacifier covers most of her face.

We are so lucky to have her!

I go back and forth from the hospital quite a bit.  When I am not there I am sleeping or pumping.  It is going to be different when we bring her home, but we can't wait.  She is such a special little girl.

We have a baby girl!

On November 4, 2010 at 9:41 pm Katelynn Saunders was born. She is a whopping 4 lbs 6 oz. and 17 inches long. She is doing great but will be in the NICU for a few days. How long she is in NICU is up to her. The only requirements are that she is able to breath on her own (check), have good glucose levels (check), maintain her body temperature (getting there), eat consistently, and be able to gain wait.

Mommy is doing great!
I guess daddy is doing ok too.

Moving to a new place

It is getting closer! Soon Kevin and I will have a baby girl! Here I am at 7 months pregnant. Only 8 more weeks to go. To get ready for the baby Kevin and I moved into a new apartment. One that will keep us warm and snake free. I have been wanting to move for a few months now. A few weeks ago a visitor to our apartment helped us make our decision quickly. Our visitor was a snake that had come in underneath the front door. Luckily we saw him right after he came in and were able to get rid of him fairly quickly. Also we were able to find a good apartment quickly.
