School's Out Forever!!!

Well it may not be forever, but it sure feels like it.  Kevin graduated from BYU on April 21st and 22nd.  He is super excited to be done with school!

Kevin's brother, BJ,was also graduating with his MBA.  They were able to walk together.

Kevin's parents were able to come up to celebrate with us.  It was a lot of fun to have them up here.  His grandparents also came to celebrate with us.

My mom and dad came down from Idaho to celebrate as well.  Family is so wonderful!

Kevin has a temporary job working for BYU right now.  It will last through the summer and will hold us over while we search for a full time job.

Playing Outside

Kevin got out his tennis racquets and balls this last weekend so we could play.  He played tennis in high shcool and is teaching me to play.  We played as long as Katelynn would let us, which was not very long.  Kevin was able to practice his serving while I held Katelynn.

On Sunday we went for a walk on BYU's campus.  It was so nice to go for a walk and enjoy the outdoors.

Kevin took some great pictures of the flowers.

These are some of my favorites.  I love the purple and white tulips!

Katelynn didn't mind posing for a few pictures for us.  This was one of the best.

Getting Bigger!

We are so excited spring is here! (Well kind of here)  It is still cold some days, but there are definitely more warm days.  Kevin was super excited this week to be done with classes.  He still has finals left, but those will go quickly.  Katelynn is getting so much bigger, or at least it feels like it.

She is always wanting to sit up, even though she can't do it by herself.  I am working on making her an Easter Dress.  It is my first project with my new sewing machine, we will see how it turns out.  It's  probably a good thing she won't be able to wear it for very long before she grows out of it.

Lately, Katelynn has been wanting to be held like this.  I don't mind at all, because I get to cuddle my sweet little girl.  She has a hard time going to sleep during the day and holding her like this helps.

Kevin is so good to help with Katelynn, even when she is fussy.  We love you Daddy!

Katelynn talks

It is so much fun to listen to Katelynn "talk."  She has a lot to say, and it will put a smile on your face.  I know it puts a smile on mine and makes me laugh.

We were visiting a cousins the other day and tried out their bouncer with Katelynn.  We put a blanket behind her to help support her.  She liked it for a little while, but then was done with it.

Other exciting news: I am going to buy a sewing machine!!  I am super excited and am ready to start on projects.

Off to Idaho we Went

We have started to feed Katelynn rice cereal.  She seems interested in it sometimes and other times she just spits it back out.

She is also beginning to "talk" a lot.  She makes the cutest sounds!  She is always willing to give a smile.

Right now her eyes are still kind of blue gray, but I don't think they are going to end up that color.

We were able to go up to Idaho for Claire's baby blessing.  This is Katelynn taking her nap before bedtime.  She usually falls asleep for about an hour then wakes up to eat and then goes to bed for the night.  I feel very blessed because she sleeps for 7-9 hours straight at night and has been doing that for awhile now.

We played with cousin Claire over the weekend.  Katelynn is not pinching Claire, although she can get a good grip on me sometimes.

We went up to Rexburg to visit our friends Chelsea and Andrew.  They had a baby girl just over a month ago.  It was good seeing them.  We were sad when they moved away from Provo last summer.

Kevin was really tired after a weekend of playing and fell asleep while holding Katelynn.  Thus we decided to spend Sunday night in Idaho and drove back on Monday morning.

Katelynn's Blessing!

Life has been a little busy lately with me student teaching and Kevin working and in school.  I am done with student teaching though; yesterday was my last day!  I am excited, but at the same time I will miss it.  Thanks to everyone who has helped watch Katelynn.  I wouldn't have been able to finish my student teaching without you.
On Sunday we were able to bless Katelynn.  It was such a special day and everything went well.  I was worried about Katelynn being fussy for the blessing, but she did great!

We were able to have lots of family come, which was fantastic.  All of Kevin's siblings were there, my parents, and three of my siblings were also able to come.  It is nice to have the love and support of family.

Katelynn has some wonderful aunts that helped make her special day even more special.  Aunt Jennifer made her blessing dress, which is gorgeous.  I love it!  Aunt Jessica made her head band, which looked perfect with the dress.  Thanks to both aunts for the wonderful gifts!

Kevin did such a wonderful job.  The blessing he gave was beautiful.  I am so grateful to have a husband who honors his priesthood and will help our family stay on the right path.

Katelynn is still small, but is doing great.  I took her to her four month check up today, and she weighs 10lbs 10 ounces.  She "talks" a lot and is always willing to give a smile.

I am excited to be a stay at home mom and to start to learning new things.  I am planning on buying a sewing machine and honing my skills with that.  It may take awhile, but I have time.  The week of Katelynn's blessing we also found out that Kevin did not get into graduate school.  We will be looking for a full time job and are excited to start a new adventure in life.  The next few months will be crazy, but that is what makes life exciting!

A New Year!

The New Year started off great, with my parents and two of my brothers coming down to visit us.  They brought a yummy ham down for a delicious dinner.

Uncle Daniel with Katelynn.

Grandma and Grandpa Butler with Katelynn.

The boys played the Wii before dinner.  It was fun watching them accidentally kill each other on the new super mario brothers.  It was a lot of fun to have family come down and visit.

Katelynn is now two months old!  Its crazy how time flies by that quickly.  I am loving being a mom!

She is growing up so quickly already.  She has grown four inches since she was born, so she is now 21 inches long and 7 lbs 13oz.  She is still small, but so much bigger than when she was born.
