Christmas!

What is there to not love about Christmas?  We love Christmas!  The lights, the decorations, the yummy food, a great chance to see family, and most importantly celebrating our Saviors’ birth and life!

There is something magical about a lit up tree at night.  It brings a warm glow to my heart and reminds me of so many fond memories and of our Savior.  I really like Christmas books too.  I hope to add to our collection so we have enough to read one a night each day in December for Christmases to come.  A fun little tradition I want to start with them is to wrap them up and then the kids can choose one to unwrap and read each night.  So many chances to have fun traditions at this time of year.

We were able to go down to California to visit Kevin’s parents this year.  It has been awhile since we have been down there, so it was really nice to have a long visit.

We got the fun started by going four wheeling around the driveway.  The girls had lots of fun and didn’t want to stop.

Christmas Eve!  I loved Christmas Eve growing up.  We got to read the Christmas story, put out our stockings, and then go to bed (or not go to bed when you are a little kid).  Going to bed was the best because you knew Christmas was tomorrow!

Waiting for everyone to get up so we can open presents!

Another thing to love about Christmas is the little kids.  They are the best!  Everyone has a little bit of kid inside of them.  I know I sure do.  It love seeing not very many presents under the tree on Christmas Eve and then they magically appear overnight.  That is the best!  Kevin surprised us and made letters for us girls.  Don’t mind the J.  It will be fixed.  Kevin felt a little silly when he noticed it.  Still a great present though!  We sure do love our daddy and husband!

This little girl is in love with purses.  The more she has, the better.

On our way back to Colorado we got to stop in Utah and visit Kevin’s siblings.  It was great to see them all, even if it was for only one night.  Christmas is great!  Celebrating Christ’s birth, Family, and lots of love!

Our cute little girl turned 3 in November!

It has been so fun watching her grow up so far.  She is one spunky little girl and we love her very much.  She had a lot of fun opening her presents and eating cake.

Helping cook some pig pancakes with her new kitchen tools from Grandma Saunders.

We were able to go to Idaho for Thanksgiving!  We had a lot of fun and a nice break.

Before we left though we decorated our Christmas tree.  Thanksgiving was late and we were only going to be home for two weeks before we left again.  The girls had a lot of fun with it.  Katelynn liked putting the star on!

Kevin got to play the piano which he loves doing and Jane really liked helping him.

Katelynn really liked playing with Grandma!

She also liked playing in the leaves her daddy raked up for her.  One of the great things about fall and Thanksgiving!

Kevin got all dressed for the occasion.  Well, he might have had a little help from some kids.

The girls had lots of fun with their cousins and with Grandpa and Grandma Butler.  Jane would launch herself off of the piano bench onto this pillow.  She loved it!  She did it over and over and over.  We love visiting family and were grateful we could go to Idaho for Thanksgiving.

Halloween!

So many fun things to do for Halloween!

WP_20131016_003

Jane LOVES sour cream.  If she sees it on the table for dinner that is all that she wants.  This night she was prepping for Halloween with her mad scientist look.  I think it is working pretty well.

We started Halloween off with our our ward part with trunk or treating.  Katelynn loved going around and getting candy from everyone.

WP_20131025_008

Next we went to daddy’s work trick or treating.  You can never get enough candy.

We always have fun picking out our pumpkins!  Especially on nice, warm, sunny October days.

The girls had lots of fun helping us carve the pumpkins this year.  Katelynn loved lighting them each night and seeing them glow on our porch.

We ended our Halloween festivities by going to a fun dinner party and of course actually tricker treating with the girls.  This is the first year we went around to houses in our neighborhood.  Katelynn had a blast and Jane really liked getting candy.

Fall Fun

Fall is always fun!  Especially when you have two little girls.

Our little cowgirl sure is cute!

She loves popcorn!!  and her sunglasses!

Playing in the park in our new neighborhood. It is nice to have a park close enough to walk to now.  Before we moved into our house we had to drive to get to one.  The girls love swinging!  Good thing they have a great dad who will swing them for a really long time.

WP_20130929_004

We find lots of ways to keep ourselves entertained in the car.  It makes drives much easier.

We sure are enjoying our new house.  There is fun to be had in every room.

What do you do when it snows in the middle of October?  You make little snowman of course!  Katelynn LOVES the snow and especially snowmen!  She was so excited when she saw that it had snowed.  Jane had to get used to the snow.

A few days later we were prepping our back yard for mulch.  Jane may not like the snow, but she sure does love dirt!
