Spring Fun!

We have been going outside a lot more lately and we are loving it.  I am so glad it has been so warm and winter is gone, even though it was a mild winter.

This is at a park that is close to where we live.  It is  water park when it gets warmer and this crazy contraption shoots water down.  I can’t wait to take Katelynn, she is going to love it. 

Katelynn likes the toys, but is definitely more interested in playing with the rocks.  At least she doesn’t eat them.  She might have tried one or two, but then decided they didn’t taste so good.

I love warm weather because you can barbecue.  One of my favorite things, well my favorite thing, is to grill shish kabobs.  I have loved them since I was a little kid.

 

All done grilling, just waiting to be eaten.  Sooo delicious, my mouth is watering now just at the thought of them.  I could have these almost every night.  I loved grilled vegetables. 

Kevin does a great job of getting them just right. He sure can grill!

Katelynn loves to be in the kitchen whenever I am in there.  She has to see what I am doing.

She usually lasts on a chair for awhile, but then wants to be held so she can be right by the action.  She is getting so big and learning to do a lot more.  She like to help me put things in the garbage.  So far she has only put garbage in the garbage; we will see if that continues.

She is so much fun and brings lots of joy to our lives!

She has lots of fun faces she makes.  She loves to “talk” to us and is starting to say a few words, mainly just hi though.  Lately, her jabbering always ends in mama.  That has to be the last word she says or at least it seems like it to us.  I am doing well.  I am not as tired as I have been since I started to take iron.  I found out that I have gestational diabetes again.  So wish me luck on that.  It is good for me, but I will miss my cookies.  I won’t mind if I weigh less after I have this baby girl than I did before I got pregnant.   Other than that things are going well. 

St. Patrick’s Day

I have never been to a St. Patrick’s Day parade before, let alone heard of one, but Ft. Collins has one.  It was great weather for March.  I think it got up to almost 80 that day.  We went with Ben and Shanna to the parade.  There were so many people there. 

The parade started at ten and we got there early so we could get some good seats, so it was a little chilly at first, but then it got hot. 

There were a lot of awesome floats, this one was kind of weird, but hey, they’re wearing green, right? 

Katelynn did really good once the parade started.  She loved all of the balloons, and there were a lot of balloons. She also loved all of the dogs.  There were a lot of dogs too.

After the parade we played at Ben and Shanna’s.  Out comes the water! 

Katelynn was so excited to play in the water and with her cousins. 

Kevin was great playing with the kids and kept them busy for awhile.

A good rest is needed after playing so long.  I don’t think Katelynn needed to rest as long as Kevin though. 

Wahoo! It's Warm!

Last week we had mostly warm days.  Only one day was cold, so we went outside a lot.  Katelynn loves to go outside and so it’s great that it has been warm.  She has learned how to open the door to go outside and so we have to make sure it is locked all of the time. 

We went to the park a few times this week and She just loves to run and run and run and run.  Every once in awhile she will want to play on the toys, but most of the time she is out exploring everything. 

We had to coax her to go up the stairs to go down the slide.  Daddy is great at helping her.  She really likes the slide, but doesn’t want to climb up to get to it.  Well, she wants to climb up the slide, but that doesn’t work so well. 

She will swing for a little bit, but then wants to get down to run around again.  The first counselor in our ward said that she is like the energizer bunny; just keeps running and running, never stops. 

We played with Bruce, Rohan, and Savitri one day at the park.  We only got a picture of Brue; he doesn’t mind posing for the camera. 

She was loving the slide when we helped her.  We were really trying to get her to down by herself, she is just too cautious, and wouldn’t until the very end.  Even then, she liked it better when we would hold her hand.  Our little girl is getting so big and in 18 weeks she will be an older sister!!!  We are having another little girl for those of you who don’t know.  We are super excited and I think Katelynn understands sometimes that there is a baby in my belly.  She like to poke it most of the time, she thinks it funny. Everything is going well so far and we hope it stays that way. 

A little this and a little that

In January we went to Rocky Mountain National Park.  It was gorgeous!  I loved the mountains with the snow and all the trees.  The sky was so blue.  We made it there just in time.  As we were leaving the clouds rolled in and a storm was starting.

We were planning on going on a hike, but it was way too windy.  So we opted to have a picnic in the back of Benjamin and Shanna’s van. 

The kids had a lot of fun.  It was a little squished, but that only made it more fun.  Katelynn did not want to keep this hat on.  She doesn’t like anything on her head or in her hair.  Maybe next year I can get her to wear cute winter hats. 

Katelynn likes to play in her tent with daddy.  Kevin likes to sing the spanish primary songs to her.  He has a really good voice and Katelynn loves it.   Katelynn likes it a lot when we sing to her.  She will start to humm with us; not the correct tune, but it sure is cute. 

Katelynn loves playing with the laundry basket, whether or not if it has clothes in it.  If there are clothes in it, they don’t stay in it long. 

One of Katelynn’s favorite things to do is run on our bed or the couch.  It scares me sometimes, but she has yet to fall off.  She loves it so much and will just laugh and laugh when she falls or is running. 

The other day Katelynn discovered she could sit in the cupboard.  She loved it and was trying to sit in it for a week or so.  It isn’t always this empty so she takes advantage of it when she can. 

A few weekends ago we went to a bouncy play place with Shanna and the boys.  They all loved it.  Katelynn found out she loves slides.  We can’t wait for spring to get her so we can go to the park more.  There have been a few nice days, but there needs to be more.  Katelynn loves to go outside.  As soon as we open the door she is out and running.  We go on walks and the warm days and the days that aren’t too windy.  She will point up at the geese all the time.  We have sooo many geese by our house all of the time.  Sometimes we hear them in our house and Katelynn will point outside and “talk” about them. 

We put this blanket on her the other day as a cape and she loved it.  She kept it on for a long time.  This is her babies blanket and she will bring us her baby and the blanket so we can wrap her baby up. 

Recently she has been wearing our shoes around the house.  She did really good walking in these the other day. 

She will pull this bowl from the cupboard and play with it.  She was pushing it around with balls in it here. 

When Kevin gets home from work he is really good at playing with Katelynn.  This is what I caught them doing the other day.  Our little girl is getting so big.  We love her so much.

Christmas!

Well, now that it’s February I thought I would get around to posting Christmas pictures.  We had a lot of fun over Christmas break.  Kevin was able to take two weeks of work off, so we were able to play a lot. 

Before we left for Utah and Idaho we got a picture of us with our tree and decorations.  Katelynn loved the tree.  She was really good at first at not touching it, but that didn’t last too long.  She likes balls a lot and so she was constantly pulling the ornaments off. 

She had lots of fun at Grandma’s house and liked the beads.  She also liked playing with Chelsea, Daniel’s friend. 

She loved Uncle Daniel.  She would snuggle right up to him and sometimes she only wanted him.  It was super cute. 

She got a play tent for her birthday form Kevin’s brothers and sisters and loved playing in it with her cousins in Idaho. 

She had a lot of fun playing peekaboo in it with momma. 

I made our Christmas Eve pajamas this year.  I think they turned out pretty good, if not a little big. 

We had lots of fun on Christmas morning.  Katelynn was sort of interested in opening her presents, but was more interested in eating her cereal than anything else.  Kevin really liked the sweet car I got him. 

It wouldn’t be Christmas if you didn’t do at least one puzzle!

Uncle David had fun with the nieces.  They especially liked him when he would give them treats. 

Katelynn and Claire had a lot of fun playing together. 

We all had fun at the bean auction.  The kids really enjoyed bidding on items.  The item that went for the most beans were the nutty bars, they were the last thing. 

Christmas was a lot of fun and I’m glad we were able to spend so much time with family.
