Happy Birthday Katelynn!

Our little girl is not so little anymore.  She is now two and ohh so big!  She brings so much joy into our lives.  She is a happy girl most of the time and loves to play with us and give Jane kisses.

The day before her birthday we went and played at the park.  Katelynn loves being outside and one of her favorite things to do at the park is swing.  You can either find her swinging or running.  The other toys are not her favorites.  She used to go down the slides, but now we have to coax her up there and go down with her.  She is afraid to go up on the other toys because she can see the ground through them.  It is cute.  She didn’t used to be afraid of that but has been lately.

We had a picnic at the park too.  It was a nice and sunny day, but a little chilly, so we didn’t stay too long.  Katelynn is becoming a lot more independent with certain things.  She lets us know when she doesn’t like something, and usually lets us know by crying or throwing herself on the ground.  She is definitely a two year old!

She gets in the mood to be held sometimes and likes your hands to be on her.  If you move them, she moves them right back.  This is her with daddy, probably watching Dora before daddy goes to work.

I decorated her cake this year and had a lot of fun doing it.  It is pretty simple, but I can see how decorating cakes can be addicting.

Katelynn loved being sung too and her cake.  She almost got the candle blown out by herself, but couldn’t quite get it.

Bruce ended up helping her to blow the candle out.  It was so much fun to see her excited about her birthday.

We had a little party with Benjamin, Shanna, and their kids.  Katelynn really liked opening up her presents.  I think her favorite present ended up being a big magna doodle.  She also likes the tea set Aunt Shanna got her.  She like to drink the water from the little cups and dip the little spoons in the water.  P1090830

We all enjoyed cake together.  Katelynn ate some of hers, but not very much.  For her birthday dinner we had string bean chicken and stir fry vegetables with homemade eggrolls.  It was delicious and a meal Katelynn loves.  Well, she loves green beans.

Katelynn makes us so happy and makes us laugh a lot too.  Some of the crazy things she does are: when we tell her to say thank you, she says your welcome instead; when she is in trouble and I am telling her what she did wrong she points to the ceiling and says “oohh, what is that?” to try and distract me; she brings almost all of her blankets out after her nap or when she wakes up in the morning (this is usually about three of four blankets).  It is so amazing being a mom to this little girl, who is growing up too fast.  She drives me crazy sometimes, but life would be boring if she was always good.  We love you Katelynn!!!
