Happy Birthday Katelynn!

Our little girl is not so little anymore.  She is now two and ohh so big!  She brings so much joy into our lives.  She is a happy girl most of the time and loves to play with us and give Jane kisses.

The day before her birthday we went and played at the park.  Katelynn loves being outside and one of her favorite things to do at the park is swing.  You can either find her swinging or running.  The other toys are not her favorites.  She used to go down the slides, but now we have to coax her up there and go down with her.  She is afraid to go up on the other toys because she can see the ground through them.  It is cute.  She didn’t used to be afraid of that but has been lately.

We had a picnic at the park too.  It was a nice and sunny day, but a little chilly, so we didn’t stay too long.  Katelynn is becoming a lot more independent with certain things.  She lets us know when she doesn’t like something, and usually lets us know by crying or throwing herself on the ground.  She is definitely a two year old!

She gets in the mood to be held sometimes and likes your hands to be on her.  If you move them, she moves them right back.  This is her with daddy, probably watching Dora before daddy goes to work.

I decorated her cake this year and had a lot of fun doing it.  It is pretty simple, but I can see how decorating cakes can be addicting.

Katelynn loved being sung too and her cake.  She almost got the candle blown out by herself, but couldn’t quite get it.

Bruce ended up helping her to blow the candle out.  It was so much fun to see her excited about her birthday.

We had a little party with Benjamin, Shanna, and their kids.  Katelynn really liked opening up her presents.  I think her favorite present ended up being a big magna doodle.  She also likes the tea set Aunt Shanna got her.  She like to drink the water from the little cups and dip the little spoons in the water.  P1090830

We all enjoyed cake together.  Katelynn ate some of hers, but not very much.  For her birthday dinner we had string bean chicken and stir fry vegetables with homemade eggrolls.  It was delicious and a meal Katelynn loves.  Well, she loves green beans.

Katelynn makes us so happy and makes us laugh a lot too.  Some of the crazy things she does are: when we tell her to say thank you, she says your welcome instead; when she is in trouble and I am telling her what she did wrong she points to the ceiling and says “oohh, what is that?” to try and distract me; she brings almost all of her blankets out after her nap or when she wakes up in the morning (this is usually about three of four blankets).  It is so amazing being a mom to this little girl, who is growing up too fast.  She drives me crazy sometimes, but life would be boring if she was always good.  We love you Katelynn!!!

Halloween

We had a lot of fun this Halloween.  We started off by going and getting some pumpkins from a local pumpkin patch, which is just a few minutes from our house.

It was a nice warm afternoon and Katelynn was excited to be in a big field with lots of pumpkins and dirt.  She loved pulling or pushing the wagon and would get mad at us when we helped her with it.  She also had fun picking up the pumpkins and wanted to pick up all of them to put in our wagon.

She got mad at us when we tried putting her in the wagon for this picture, but was okay with it once we told her to hold Jane.  It was a lot of fun going and getting pumpkins with Katelynn.

We decorated our pumpkins this year with markers.  Katelynn loved it!  We were going to carve one of them, but when I finally got the top off we saw that the pumpkin was basically solid.  There was very little room inside of it so we gave up and decorated it with markers as well.

Katelynn has been in love with the movie Bolt lately and so we dressed up as the characters from the movie.  Katelynn was Penny, Kevin was Bolt, I was Mittens, and Jane was Rhino.  Katelynn had a lot of fun at our ward party.  One of the little girls in our ward dressed up as Dora and Katelynn followed her around for quite awhile.  She also enjoyed the trunk or treat and getting candy.  She would ask for a treat every day after Halloween.  I am glad that the candy is now gone.

Two Little Girls

We are blessed to have two amazing, wonderful, little girls in our lives.  They are so much fun!

It is hard to believe that Katelynn will be two soon.  She has gotten so big and seems so old now.  She has started to show her attitude a little more, especially when she doesn’t get what she wants.  We got her a toddler bed a few weeks ago and she loves it.  She loves being able to get out of it in the morning and come into our room to wake us up.  She also loves being able to have toys in bed with her.  I find all sorts of different toys on her bed with her in the morning and after her nap.  She finds all the blankets she can and piles those around her as well.  She would take all the blankets in the house if I would let her.  They are some of her favorite things.  Jane is getting so big.  She is making more and more cooing sounds and is always willing to give us a smile.  She is a very happy baby!  She is starting to grab at things more and is almost rolling over.  Life would be boring if we didn’t have these two spectacular girls in our lives.

When we went on vacation a little while ago, Katelynn had tons of fun playing with Freddie, Kevin’s parents’ dog.

Jane was really talking the other day and I was able to catch it on video.

It’s not going to be hard for us to tell our girls’ baby pictures apart.  Jane is 3 1/2 months old and Katelynn is 5 months old in these two pictures.  You might be able to tell they are sisters, but for the most part they are pretty different.  They both are cute though!

Family Pictures

We had some family pictures taken this last week.  Shanna took them for us and did an amazing job.

We took them at a lake just behind where we live.  It is a a really pretty area and super close.  The girls and I like to go for walks around the lake.

Here are my cute little girls!  The picture of Katelynn really captures her personality.  We sure love these two little girls!  They bring so much happiness into our lives.

We had a hard time getting Katelynn to hold still for very long.  She LOVES to run around and would run around for hours on end outside if I would let her.

Fall Vacation

We were able to go on vacation a few weeks ago up to Idaho and to Utah.  We didn’t really go anywhere this summer because of me being pregnant and Jane being born.  It was great to go and visit family.

Kevin was able to get some good fishing in with his dad.  He got to fish at his favorite fishing spot.

One of the days we went to Henry’s Lake.  Katelynn absolutely loved it.  It was a beautiful fall day, the fish were up close to shore, and there were plenty of good skipping rocks.

Katelynn found three things she loved doing.  She ran around everywhere outside, gave Freddie lots of hugs, and played with Grandma Saunders.  She sure had fun on her vacation.   Jane slept a lot and of course, was super cute.

We got to play with cousins in Shelley for a little while.  We sure had fun with them.  It was cold and windy, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the sunshine.

Our good friends, Chelsea and Andrew, feed us some yummy dinner.  Our girls got to play together too.  They are both pretty close in age.

The last stop on our vacation was visiting Kevin’s siblings in Utah.  We had a lot of fun with them.  It was great to have the whole family together, even if it was just for a day or two.  All of the kids are growing up and getting so big.  We got some fun pictures of Kevin, his siblings, and his parents.
